Miguel Santos is an epic fantasy writer who has been reading the genre since he was a kid, and worldbuilding for almost as long. That realization became Mesozaca: a secondary world mirroring the Age of Conquest era of North and South America, built to honor the Americas the way most fantasy honors medieval Europe. It's the setting for his debut series, Song of the Feathered Serpent — a story about a world on the edge of war, and the people who have to decide what kind of person to be when the cost of doing right keeps going up.
